The constant-temperature/humidity systems of Samhwa ACE satisfy the strictest requirements for high availability and energy efficiency. It is also possible to configure optimum systems by combining various cooling systems and equipment options to meet customers’ requirements.
Air-cooled constant-temperature/humidity system consists of indoor units and air-cooled outdoor unit, with the heat of the indoor space released to outdoor space.
The coolant circulates in a closed loop of indoor units and outdoor unit that is operated in a certain range of condensation pressure for the whole year to prevent troubles due to thermal changes in outdoor air.
The indoor unit consists of a cooling cycle including compressor and condenser, and cooling water is supplied to the indoor unit from the cooling tower or dry cooler of the building, releasing heat to the outside through the water-cooled heat exchanger (condenser). Freeze rupture is prevented in winter by adding antifreeze to the cooling water.
The chilled water generated by the outdoor cooler gets sent to the indoor unit and extracts heat from the indoor space, and heated water releases heat through the outdoor cooler and gets recirculated. Freeze rupture is prevented in winter by adding antifreeze to chilled water.
The free cooling system uses outdoor air rather than mechanical cooling. Chilled water or cooling water is sent by outside, and heat is released through the indoor 3-way valve. Free cooled water generated at relatively small energy is first used to reduce the use of cooling coil, and insufficient cooling is then supplemented through the proportional control of chilled water.
